The Weston to Hollywood loop offers a sunny and scenic road cycling experience, transitioning from Weston's well-planned suburban environment to Hollywood's more urban and potentially coastal vibe. You'll ride on generally well-paved surfaces, with open views and occasional glimpses of natural surroundings like levee greenways, hinting at the nearby Everglades. Keep an eye out for the distinctive guitar-shaped architecture of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood along the way.

This moderate 42.4-mile (68.2 km) route has a remarkably flat profile, with only 22 feet (7 metres) of elevation gain, making it accessible for a wide range of cyclists. The estimated duration is about 2 hours and 41 minutes. For optimal comfort, plan your ride during the cooler, drier months from late fall to spring, typically November to April, to avoid the intense heat and humidity of South Florida.

Weston is recognized as an excellent community for cycling, boasting an extensive network of marked bike lanes and even "FixIt Bike Repair Stations" for on-the-go maintenance. The area also provides connections to a paved greenway network extending towards the Everglades, offering a distinct, less suburban riding experience along canals with potential for wildlife sightings.

The Vista View Park – State Road 84 loop offers a unique road cycling experience in South Florida, blending the region's typically flat terrain with surprising elevation changes. You'll navigate the rare green rolling hills and meadows of Vista View Park, a repurposed landfill that now provides genuine climbs and descents, before transitioning to the smooth, straight stretches of State Road 84. This moderate 32.8-mile (52.8 km) route, with its 78 feet (24 metres) of elevation gain, is a fantastic way to get a diverse workout in about 2 hours and 2 minutes, offering panoramic views from the park's summit.

To make the most of your ride, consider starting your journey from Weston Road/South New River Circle. Parking is generally available, but Vista View Park can get busy, so an early start is often a good idea. Given the South Florida climate, always bring ample water, especially during warmer months. The route is accessible throughout the year, but the cooler, drier season from late fall to spring provides the most comfortable riding conditions.

What truly sets this route apart is the inclusion of Vista View Park, which stands out dramatically in the notoriously flat South Florida landscape. Its man-made hills provide a unique training ground for cyclists seeking elevation without leaving the urban centers, making it a popular spot for competitive riders and those looking for a challenging cardio workout. Combining these rare hills with the flat, fast sections of State Road 84 creates a diverse and engaging road cycling experience.

The South Post Road Stretch loop offers a classic Weston road cycling experience: a flat, well-paved journey through sunny, open suburban landscapes. This easy 22.5-mile (36.3 km) route, with its minimal 57 feet (17 metres) of elevation gain, is designed for consistent pedaling and can be completed in about 1 hour and 21 minutes. You'll find yourself on roads popular with local cyclists, with the potential for glimpses of natural features as you pass near areas like Peace Mound Park, hinting at the wilder Florida beyond.

To tackle this loop, you'll start from the vicinity of Weston Road and North Corporate Lakes Boulevard, an area well-equipped for cyclists. Parking is generally available within Weston's extensive cycling network, and the route requires no special permits or fees. Given the Florida climate, consider cycling in the cooler parts of the day, like early mornings, to make the most of this beginner-friendly road cycling route.

This loop is part of Weston's commitment to cycling, a city boasting over 50 miles of marked bike lanes and numerous Bike FixIt Repair Stations. The flat terrain makes it an excellent option for those new to road cycling or for experienced riders seeking a steady training ground. It's a testament to how Weston integrates active living into its community, providing accessible and enjoyable cycling routes for everyone.

Believe it or not Vista View Park, just to your north, used to be a landfill. Now the roughly 270-acre open space is a lovely green interlude, with the spacious views its name implies.

State Road 84 is a smooth, flat, and dead straight strip of road that would be great for some speed work, steady intervals, or a TT bike. There is a nice bike lane and not too many traffic lights to kill your average speed.

The Hard Rock Cafe Hotel Florida is a real eye-catcher - inside and out! From the outside, the building has the shape of a Gipson electric guitar, which is spectacularly illuminated at night. A walk through the entrance hall of the hotel, as well as the associated casino and the Hard Rock Café Restaurant is worthwhile because of the spectacular interior design and of course because of the exhibits by international artists from the music industry in the form of instruments or clothing, which are usual for Hard Rock Cafés. If you're ever in Hollywood, Florida, it's a must-see.
