The restaurant will no longer be open. However, we have an absolutely idyllic spot here and a fantastic view of the Großer Kuhwallsee. The high staircase does provide an excellent vantage point. However, cyclists will have to struggle to negotiate it. The narrow rails are hardly suitable for cycling, as they are simply too narrow and positioned far too close to the railing. A truly poor design. You have to hold your bike at a very slight angle, and it's completely unavoidable that it rubs against the pedals and handlebars. When I was there, goats were roaming freely in the square. Important additional information: The sign for the restrooms must be considered a complete fake. It must have been quite a while since they were open.

The bathing area offers shallow access to the water, but cyclists, people with strollers, disabled people, and motorized vehicles have enormous difficulty even getting close. The entire forecourt is made of deep sand. Driving through it is certainly not recommended. However, the village is accessible by car, and there is a permitted access road.

This, also known as the Lychen Gate, is a gate of the protected city fortifications of Templin in Brandenburg. It is located in the western part of Templin's old town, at the beginning of the road leading towards Lychen. The gate is considered the oldest of the three gates of the Templin city fortifications and is also the smallest. It was built in the Gothic period in the first half of the 14th century. The gate tower is three stories high and has a square floor plan. The gate passage is designed as a pointed arch. The name Mühlentor (Mill Gate) arises from the fact that mill facilities have existed in the area of the front gate since Templin was founded. A final grain mill was operated there until 1990.

A good idea was implemented modestly for cyclists. It goes quite steeply up and down, the rails for pushing the bikes are extremely attached to the foot of the railings, so that you have to hold the bikes at a 45-degree angle. A disaster for users of e-bikes and heavier bikes with and without luggage. Not a showcase of German engineering. But it was very expensive. Nevertheless, the bridge remains a highlight, as it is the only option far and wide to get into or out of the Tangersdorfer Heide.

The angular Wiekhaus (Way House) in Templin is the only angular defensive structure incorporated into the city wall to increase its stability and security. All of the 52 remaining fortifications are semicircular. The word "Wiek" comes from Early New High German and means "to evade." The suffix "Haus" (house) was added because some of these structures were later supplemented with house-like superstructures. At the beginning of the 14th century, the original battlements of the Wiekhaus were adapted to accommodate the use of firearms. The loopholes were narrowed, and a second defensive platform was added to increase the defensive power.
