June 20, 2025, Dinosaur Tracksite

Pedaling along the Dakota Ridge service road, you’ll hit the famous Dinosaur Tracksite, where ancient footprints in Dakota sandstone are stained for visibility. Over 300 tracks left by iguanodonts and small theropods lie just off the path.

New bakery at the top of Lookout just past Buffalo Bills. They opened Spring of 2025, just getting started and adding new pastries each time I stop by, the coffee is good too, hard to beat chocolate croissants stuffed with Nutella and a double shot of espresso!

Brewery just off the Platte River Trail at 13th Street. Solid beer selection and one of the better breweries in Denver, they also have a cool biergarten out back and often have food trucks. Well worth a stop if you're riding the Platte River Trail and need a break.

Lookout Mountain is a popular climb for local cyclists and visitors. Traffic is normally light and friendly, but the climb is steep at points. However, you are rewarded at the top by wonderful views of downtown Denver.

December 10, 2024, Mile High Stadium

Empower Field at Mile High, often called Mile High Stadium, is Denver’s iconic sports venue and home to the NFL’s Denver Broncos. Located near downtown, the stadium sits 5,280 feet above sea level, giving it its name. Opened in 2001, it replaced the original Mile High Stadium and can accommodate over 76,000 fans. The stadium hosts football games, concerts, and other large-scale events and features panoramic views of Denver and the Rocky Mountains. Outside, the "Bucky the Bronco" statue symbolizes the team and its history.

This is the second best brewery in Golden! Do a good selection of beers, especially good at IPA's, which is my preferred style.
