June 13, 2022, Kelp Cove

The tidal pools with amazing sea creatures at Kelp Cove are the main attraction to come down to the rocky shore here. Unmapped walking is possible far into the rock shelf that is uncovered at low tide, and to both sides along the narrow beach at the foot of the cliffs. Be very careful on the slippery rocks, and only come down here during the peak hour of low tide, as the waves cover all of the beach and the rocky shelf most of the time, and many deaths occur when people underestimate sneaker waves and quickly rising tides.
