A short spur trail takes you to a clearing where the mossy bedrock rises out of the trees and gives you a view northward across Ladysmith. If the weather is clear, you can see the looming white-capped mountains in the direction of Whistler across the Strait of Georgia.

This is one of the main access points to the Holland Creek loop and has roadside parking plus a public washroom at the shelter. From here the trail drops into forest with boardwalks, bridges, and benches along the way.
