It is not far from Bariloche to here. Quite good for the first day of our two month dream tour of Patagonia. The famous RN 40 takes you through hilly pampas and only a few inclines. The CG is wonderfully located on the lake, there is cold beer, but also cold showers and toilets. There is a wooden table and a fireplace on site.

Crossing this bridge that crosses the Malen river, between the Espejo Chico and Correntoso lakes, you discover the remains of the old wooden bridge. It is the witness of a not so distant past.

From this bridge, although still officially on route 40, you take the Camino de los siete lagos (the path of the 7 lakes). The road has recently been paved and its asphalt is new and very pleasant. As its name suggests, this road consisted mainly of gravel roads, better known here as "ripio". The lakes you will encounter today are all of glacial origin and are each more magnificent than the next.

This campsite is an excellent option, if you want to shorten your cycling day. It is located on the edge of Nahuel Huapi, very well shaded and protected from the wind in some places.

Villa la Angostura is a really nice little town for nature lovers. Among the many islands close to the agglomeration, we find the one that includes the National Park of Los Arrayanes. Arrayanes are endemic trees that have cinnamon-colored bark dotted with white spots. The leaves are small and bright green, giving rise to plays of light. You can make magnificent hikes all around the island. A road north of the city also leads to a beautiful place of nature: the cascada río Bonito (Be careful it climbs by bike). There are also pleasant beaches to the south of the town. In its center you will find accommodation in small hotels, and on the edge of the Nahuel Huapi, you will find campsites as well as cabins for rent.
