Avoid in the evening. Do not relax in daylight hours either! Avoid displaying anything of value. Do not hang out with your expensive ebike/bike/anything! Unless you're OK with fighting against multiple attackers for it, attackers who will go to any lengths and don't know when to stop! Keep your eyes open for the approach of dubious people and be alert to their intent, especially if they try to control the interaction from the start! Should you be approached, show no fear, you're being scanned for weakness, and should you show weakness, you are encouraging them to hurt you! If you clock the approach of dubious people, GTFO as quickly as possible, without showing panic of course! The Green can be a really nice place, especially given the beautiful architecture, however as a Bristol person, you hear endless stories of horror from in and around the park, and at all times of the day and night, with people falling victim to muggings, violent attacks and robbery.

Castle Park is a large area of green space in the heart of Bristol, right next to the River Avon. A vibrant place at all times of year, the park really springs to life in summer, when impromptu music, games, barbeques, gatherings and festivities create a wonderful atmosphere. At the centre of the park is St Peter's Church and a sensory herb garden. Opened in 1978, the park is located in what used to be Bristol's main shopping district, an area which was destroyed during the Blitz.

Opened on 30 September 1978, the park occupies the site of what was once Bristol's main shopping district. The area was largely destroyed by the Luftwaffe during the Blitz, and that which remained was subsequently demolished. In the years since the end of the Second World War, Castle Park has become home to a number of anti-fascist memorials. The ruined tower of St Mary-le-Port Church stands to the west of the park, surrounded by derelict financial office buildings. Adjoining the ruins of St Peter's Church in the middle of the park is a sensory herb garden, and five silver birch trees as a memorial to the beaches of the D-Day landings. To the east is a grassy arena, and the partially excavated remains of Bristol Castle with a preserved vaulted chamber. There is also a bandstand and a children's play area.

Castle Park offers a blend of past and present, from the remains of a great medieval castle to the nearby bustle of a modern city centre. Nestled between Bristol Shopping Quarter on one side and the beautiful Harbourside on the other, Castle Park offers a quiet place to sit or stroll, whilst looking over the tranquil water. What’s more, children can explore the 'castle' playground. The park is also a focus for many pieces of artwork, from creative seats and a carved stone throne to a unique water fountain. The ruins of St Peter's Church, which was heavily damaged during World War II, are unfortunately not open to the public. https://visitbristol.co.uk/things-to-do/castle-park-and-st-peters-church-p39371
