Claudius 🚵♂️ the landmark of the Kleinziegenfelder Valley Since 1905, a "cyclist" has stood on the rock in the Kleinziegenfelder Valley. Two brothers erected the statue to create a landmark. And, believe it or not, that was the first bicycle in the Kleinziegenfelder Valley. However, the cyclist was blown away during a strong storm. In 1933, a new cyclist statue was erected. The statue was dismantled during World War II because it bore a regime flag. In 1952, a third cyclist statue was erected, which fell victim to vandalism and was renovated in 1971. The Claudius statue has carried a red and white flag since 1952. A new wooden corpus was carved in 1997, and Claudius received new clothes in 2023. I was already surprised when I saw the bike standing on the ledge without Claudius in the summer of 2023. And so it has been standing forever, delighting me time and again on my tour.
