A bridleway follows the gently sloping Foxcote Hill, providing gorgeous views of the surrounding Gloucestershire countryside.

This stunning grove of trees lies between Notgrove and Cold Aston. Most spectacular in summer but still evocative in the colder months, the grove houses the Gloucestershire Way long-distance path; it's a bridleway at this point. The grove splits the trail, with two concurrent paths and trees running down the centre as well as on both sides.

This tiny Cotswold village is surely a place that time forgot. With a Norman church and plenty of 17th- and 18th-century houses, wandering along the lanes will be punctuated by photo stops. The village is also home to Salperton Park, a beautiful estate with a Palladian-style manor house.

Dating back to the 17th century, this Grade II-listed inn sits in the gorgeous Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Frogmill is now a rather luxurious hotel as well as a pub and has pretty gardens. Find the waterwheel next to the pond (although it's not the original) and breathe in the serene atmosphere. The Frogmill has an extensive menu if you're looking for a hearty lunch while walking in the area.
