August 23, 2026, Allerheiligen Monastery Ruins

The Allerheiligen monastery dates back to a foundation by Uta von Schauenberg, an aunt of Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, was founded between 1191 and 1196 and operated by the Order of the Premonstratensians. From the 13th century onwards, many pilgrims came to Allerheiligen. The monastery with its widely recognized gymnasium existed until 1803, after which it stood empty and fell into disrepair. Only in 1844 were efforts made to preserve the complex.

The road from the Förcher Kreisel to Ebersteinburg is still closed. You can get through the village or the construction site by bike. You should take advantage of it and ride up while it's still closed and there are no cars.

Highly recommended at the moment: Ebersteinburg town center closed due to construction (May 2025)! Therefore, very few cars! (Ask Google Maps if you can get through by car)
