Population of the Els Ports region, in the province of Castellón (Valencian Community). Its name probably comes from the gallows shape made by the Bergantes, Cantavieja and Caldés rivers. For the researchers it was an important Roman villa, and a good part of its wall is still standing in the entrance area of the town.
