The Keszthely promenade on the west bank of Lake Balaton is considered one of the most elegant and historically rich promenades in the entire region. While other places on the lake often focus on modern mass tourism, Keszthely has retained a charming, almost aristocratic vibe.

The Tavirózsa Nature Trail is essentially a walking path that encircles the lake and runs through the protective forest partly surrounding it. The local flora and fauna are presented on information boards along the approximately 2.5 km mini-tour. It's a beautifully constructed route with benches, bridges, and even a treetop walkway on the hillside. Unfortunately, the maps don't show the walkway, so it hasn't received much publicity. The treetop walkway wasn't built high enough to offer a clear overhead view of the lake, for example. We have to settle for a partial view. What is very beautiful, however, are the lake's outflow channels, which are clean, well-maintained, and teeming with wildlife. The lake's famous water lily also lives here!

The church in Kossuth Lajos utca in Keszthely is one of the most important historical sights in the city and the entire Balaton region. It is the parish church of "Our Lady of Hungary" (Hungarian: Magyarok Nagyasszonya-plébániatemplom), located directly on the main square (Fő tér) at the end of the pedestrian zone (Kossuth Lajos utca). It is the oldest building in Keszthely. The church was built around 1386 by Count István Lackfi for the Franciscan order. Lackfi himself was buried in the church after his execution in 1397; his Gothic tomb is still visible there today.

The Gothic church is the oldest building in Keszthely and was probably completed around 1390. In 1974, murals were discovered in the sanctuary, which are considered the largest Gothic frescoes in present-day Hungary. The church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, Queen of Hungary.
