The old stone bridge over River Esk is closed since winter 2023-24 floods. Its first section was washed away and it does not look like it will be fixed anytime soon. It affects the Montrose Basin circular cycling route. No warning signs until crossroads at Barnhead. UPDATE: as of May 2026, maybe earlier, it is now fixed and opened.
