I was amazed at how many hidden and beautiful historical sights there were to discover. I also discovered the King George Pavilion purely by chance. I wish there was a sign here telling the story. A great tour in good weather. Here too, you can decide for yourself which route you want to take, as there are many shady and semi-shady paths waiting to be explored.

Should extreme weather conditions cause a rapid rise in the water level in the dam, the excess water would be diverted via this drainage channel towards the secondary dam.

The Sösetalsperre serves as flood protection. It has three weirs to regulate the water level. Drinking water is also extracted from the secondary dam, which is transported to Bremen via a pipeline.

Such structures are always impressive. 😯😮 The Söse Dam was the first dam built by the Harz Waterworks on the Söse River between 1928 and 1931. The cost of building the dam at the time was 14.7 million Reichsmarks.
