Mont Billiat, starting from the chalets of La Buchille, is a hike that captivates with its authenticity and the beauty of its panoramas. The route crosses vast alpine pastures where a peaceful atmosphere reigns, before gradually gaining the slopes of the summit. Throughout the ascent, the views open up over the Brevon valley, Lake Geneva, and the Chablais mountains, offering a constantly renewed spectacle. Once at Mont Billiat, the 360° panorama is a magnificent reward, with the Mont-Blanc massif, the Swiss Alps, and the surrounding peaks revealing themselves when the weather is clear. I particularly appreciated the tranquility of this hike and the feeling of being far from the hustle and bustle, in a mountain that has remained authentic. It is an accessible but very rewarding climb, ideal for fully enjoying the beauty of the Chablais and discovering a summit that deserves to be highlighted more.

La Tête des Fieux, the Pointes de Pelluaz and Pelluaz Est form a hike that is as wild as it is confidential. Starting from Bernex, the route quickly moves away from the most frequented paths to offer an immersion into a more authentic Chablais. The ascent is varied, alternating between alpine pastures, ridges and more mineral passages, with a particularly pleasant feeling of solitude. From the summits, the panorama is remarkable: Lake Geneva, the Dent d'Oche, the Mémises and numerous peaks of the Chablais form a grandiose setting. What I appreciated most was the preserved character of this hike. Here, the mountain is discovered in calm, far from the crowds. A demanding but exciting loop, which deserves to be better known by lovers of wild routes and confidential summits.

La Dent d'Oche will undoubtedly remain one of my most beautiful climbs. This mythical summit in the Chablais is earned: the ascent is demanding, the last few meters require concentration and provide a real high-mountain feeling. Reaching the summit is a moment of immense satisfaction. The reward matches the effort: an exceptional panorama of Lake Geneva, the Swiss Alps, Mont Blanc, and the summits of the Chablais. I felt a mixture of pride, serenity, and freedom there. Every step to the cross reminded me that the most beautiful landscapes are earned through perseverance. An unforgettable hike that will remain etched in my memory for a long time.

On September 3rd, 2023 we hiked along both edges of the Mémises in bright sunshine.

A superb summit which offers magnificent views of Lake Geneva and the Chablais massif. The climb can seem a little dizzying with the chimney that leads to the Dent d'Oche refuge on one side, and some exposed passages equipped with cables on the other. Be careful in rainy weather, the rock can be very slippery. Nevertheless, the view is worth the climb and some beautiful hiking tours allow day crossings.

The Pic de Mémise is an elevation above Thollon-des-Mémises that I/we have climbed repeatedly over the past ten years. In the direction of Lake Geneva, the Mémises form a cliff along which you can hike. The highest peak is 1674 meters high. You can access the hiking trail with a cable car, which is also open in summer until the beginning of September. Sturdy shoes and hiking poles are recommended. The area above the open high plateau is one of the most famous ski areas in the Évian-les-Bains area. Above the Mémises is the Pic Boré at 1974 m. The last 150 m to the summit are very steep. On the back there is a grade, which later goes steeply over a meadow into the valley. Good hiking equipment is essential here. I crossed the Pic Boré 2022.

Beautiful summit with a panoramic view. Unfortunately no summit cross - lower peaks in the area have one. The ascent is mostly on roads in the ski area. Shortly before the summit, a karst gully has to be climbed. The rating with difficulty T3 is a bit high.
