The Beaume waterfall is a unique place! This 27 meter high waterfall is the result of erosion: the waters of the Ourzie river cut into the basalt of the plateau and spring from the top of the cliff to then give rise to the Beaume, a tributary of the Loire.

The castle has been included on the list of historic monuments since 1926. During the summer, it is possible to visit it through ASACHAR (Association for the Protection and Animation of Arlempdes Castle).

The Bonnefont farmhouse is an old farm restored by the efforts of a handful of enthusiasts. They have all been working since 1992 through the SOS Loire Vivante association. Now an information and exhibition point, the farmhouse can also accommodate hikers for the night. Do not hesitate to inquire beforehand if the idea appeals to you.

From the bridge between Goudet and the Château de Beaufort, there is an excellent view of the Loire and the nature that drives its current. A few meters away there are two small beaches where you can swim in summer.

A small path of about a hundred meters allows you to pass under the basalt flow through what looks like a cave, and to observe the rock up close. The passage requires you to lean, and it is protected from the slope by a small wall. This is not the "official" general public trail but the detour does not seem forbidden (March 2021). The additional info: "beaume" comes from the Latin "balma", which means "cave"
