Top 4 Mountain Passes around Charentay

The pass is a popular climb for road cyclists in the region. The route from Villié-Morgon via the Col du Truges up to the higher Col du Fût d'Avenas is considered a scenically beautiful, steady tour past gentle vineyards.

The Col de Saint-Bonnet, located in the heart of the Alps, offers a spectacular panorama of the surrounding mountains and green valleys. This pass, perched at an altitude of 1,499 metres, is a favourite passage for hikers and cyclists in search of magnificent landscapes. As you climb the slopes of the pass, the view gradually opens up onto the Alpine peaks, forests and flowery meadows.

The Col de la Croix-Rosier is a road pass in the Massif Central, located in the Rhône department. Its altitude is 721 meters.

The Col de Saint-Bonnet is a beautiful pass in Beaujolais, culminating at 646 meters. The two main ascents are from Salles-Arbuissonas or Rivolet. Without great difficulty from Salles, it offers very beautiful panoramas of Beaujolais. Via Rivolet, the gradients are steeper in some sections, but the climb is short. You can then reach the Parasoir via the Col de la Vieille Morte, almost without any climbing.

Super pass very little frequented to do from Marchampt by a magnificent small road or in the sequence of the Col de la Croix Rosier. Many walks in the moors of Beaujolais start from there. The road is gritty but the scenery and tranquility is worth it.

Super pass to do from Lamure via Pont Gaillard, from Marchampt or in the extension of the ridges in the chain of passes. From Marchampt a view of the magnificent deciduous forest. From Pont Gaillard, the climb is very beautiful in the valley with beautiful views. The morning with few people is a real pleasure!

Great collar! The laces on the Beaujolais side are just sublime! It's just harder going up than going down. Possible ascent of Perréon or pont-gaillard/Lamure-sur-Azergues. Difficult from the Perréon with really steep passages.
