The cycle path along the canal is well developed and absolutely flat! Highlights are the tranquil Chalons-en-Champagne (formerly Chalons-sur-Marne) and the busier Épernay. At Condé-sur-Marne you can also follow the "Canal de la Marne à l'aisne" in the direction of Reims.

Very nice bike tour. No great effort is required. There are many churches with beautiful windows to visit along the way. In the vicinity of Epérnay you come to the wine-growing region of Champagne. It's worth stopping in Ay, where you can taste wonderful tarts in the village square and next to it, in the bar, there is champagne to go with it.

Beautiful marina in Mareuil sur Marne. The most beautiful view of the village and the harbor is from the south bank.

A bike tour is also very feasible for families with small children. The path along the canal is level, in very good condition and there are regular picnic areas. The local peculiarities (plants, canal,...) are also discussed on display boards from time to time.

Beautiful village with flair. Noteworthy is the Saint-Hilaire church from the 11th century. which in turn goes back to a Merovingian church.
