Replica of the depiction of the city's namesake. It's probably just a legend that this beautiful lady gave the city her name, but a nice legend nonetheless 😅 The legend is too long to copy here. It's best to search the internet for "Carcassonne Dame Carcas." The very weathered original of the statue is on display in the Château Comtal, but it's difficult to recognize as a bust of Dame Carcas. This statue can be found to the right of the entrance to Port Narbonnaise.
