Unfortunately, the bench shown on the highlight is no longer there, but there are three other great benches with a view of the beautiful nature of the lower Estetal. Dreamlike beautiful. Bicycle tour from Stade via Apensen to Stade through the lower Estetal. So much beautiful nature and the cycle paths are also manageable, from time to time it gets a bit uneven but it is doable. A short section runs directly along the road. Great resting places are available on the route. E.g. at the fishing water of Horneburg in the lower Estetal. There the place is dedicated to the North German poet: Johann D. Bellmann *08.05.1930 - 25.06.2006

The Apensen Town Hall is not only an administrative building, but also a symbol of the history and development of the Apensen Collective Municipality. It is the administrative headquarters and reflects the municipal structure that emerged from the merger of the municipalities of Apensen, Beckdorf, and Sauensiek in 1972.

The present Apensen church celebrated its centenary in March 2010. It stands on the foundations of numerous older chapels and churches. The first one is believed to have been built here around the year 800. The first documented mention of a church dates back to 1329. This proves that the church has held a firm and very central position in Apensen for many centuries. Today, the parish includes many people from 14 villages. With 3,700 inhabitants, Apensen is the largest town in the parish district, and our church is located there. The congregation has a total of approximately 5,000 members, about half of whom live in Apensen. Over the course of a year, invitations are extended to over 80 church services and numerous devotional services, including in other villages such as Beckdorf, Wiegersen, Ottensen, and Ruschwedel.
