St. Sophia Cathedral in Kiev - the oldest, historic Latin cathedral in Kiev, the seat of the bishopric of the Catholic Church in the Kiev diocese, belonging from 1412 to the Lviv metropolis. The cathedral was located in the Padole district of Kiev, next to the Dominican monastery. The construction of the first wooden cathedral st. Sophia Cathedral in Kiev should be associated with the introduction of a church organization in Kievan Rus. Already in the time of Prince Vladimir, there was a wooden cathedral in Kiev, which burned down in 1017. The earliest records of the temple come from the chronicle of Thietmar, which describes the entry of the troops of Bolesław the Brave and Sviatopolk I into Kiev in 1018, and also mentions that the "monasterio Sophiae" was burned down in the previous year. The wooden cathedral in Kiev was mentioned in the inspection from 1569. In the 16th century, the Bishop of Kiev, Józef Wereszczyński, erected a new wooden cathedral in Kiev in the dynamically developing part of the city called Padół, in the jurisdiction called Biskupie. At that time, the cathedral had no canons, and according to Erich Lassota von Steblau, "while Kyiv itself has wooden buildings, it is not surrounded by walls, but embankments." https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawod_%C5%9Bw._Zofii_w_Kijowie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quNSQPmUQIs

St. Michael the Archangel with the Golden Domes (Ukrainian: Михайлівський золотоверхий монастир) - an Orthodox monastery complex in Kiev. Cathedral church (main temple) of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The original, unpreserved complex of sacred buildings was built by Światopełek II and expanded in the 18th century. It consisted of the buildings of the monastery, the cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel, belfry (1716–1719), refectory with the church of St. John the Theologian (1713) and the Economic Gate (1760). In the years 1934–1937 it was demolished by the decision of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Ukraine. After 1991 and the independence of Ukraine, the monastery was rebuilt. https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monaster_%C5%9Bw._Micha%C5%82a_Archanio%C5%82a_o_Z%C5%82otych_Kopu%C5%82ach https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9YrwE8odCA
