The approximately 35-hectare pond, originally built for fish farming, still invites many for a swim, but a beautiful excursion on the well-developed paths around the lake is also tempting.

The bridge was recently redone. Otherwise, a normal bridge, no special highlight!

A must here in the northeast if you are out and about with a gravel bike. It rides great here!

Simply a great trail to push the gravel bike to its limit. Not much is going on here and you can ride as fast as the terrain allows.

The Bredenbeker Teich is a piece of Hamburg or Stormarn history. People used to vacation in the Walddörfer, and the bathing establishment here was very popular. Until before Corona, there was a great natural outdoor pool at the campsite here. Now people just like to go into the water. The old bathing establishment can still be recognized by an information board and the manor house.

There is hardly a route I prefer to ride. It used to be an insider tip, but now everyone rides here. But I can understand why. It's most beautiful when you ride from the bottom up towards Volksdorf and then on to Lottbeker Stausee.

Hiking on the Invisible Border Did you know that the Moorbek stream at the Lottbek Reservoir is not only an idyllic body of water, but also marks a historically significant border? The City Border: The official border between the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg (Volksdorf/Duvenstedt) and the State of Schleswig-Holstein (Municipality of Ammersbek/Ahrensburg) runs directly along the middle of the Moorbek stream at the Lottbek Reservoir. The Hiking Trail: The narrow path that leads directly along the shore is one of the most beautiful cross-border hiking trails in the region. It seamlessly connects the Hamburg nature reserve Duvenwischen with the Schleswig-Holstein hiking trails towards Bredenbeker Teich. Pure Nature: While you practically still have one foot in Hamburg, you can look across the Moorbek stream directly into the pristine alder swamp forests of Schleswig-Holstein.
