A good hike to the lookout, but don't do the loop. Do it as an out-and-back hike. There, the downhill path is overgrown and not pleasant. And the return to the road and the national highway is very dangerous. It's better to go back to the lookout.

Unfortunately, the circular path past the chapel with the view of the lake is not always accessible due to pasture use.

Magnificent view of Lake Castillon and the village of Saint-Julien-du-Verdon from the crest of the Pidanoux bar.

Beautiful bike ride right along the lake. Make sure to stop in Saint-Julien-du Verdon and enjoy a cool drink down by the lake. There is also a small snack bar if you get a little hungry.

Be careful not to miss the turn-off on the ridge to get back to the village via the "road". The ridge path is now quite overgrown and sometimes difficult to see. In some places it is a struggle through the thicket.....! 06/2024
